Dubai Food Festival

February 28, 2014

Like anything to do with Dubai, the Dubai Food Festival takes place on a grand scale.  This smorgasbord of food-related events takes place from 20 February to 25 March this year, and promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Top chefs will be in attendance, the world’s food will be on display and entertainment for all ages will be laid on.

The carnival kicks off with the Grand Kerala Festival, from 20 to 22 February, which brings the abundant flavours and colours of Southern Indian cuisine to life at Dubai’s Wonderland near Creek Park. The park will be disguised as a makeshift Keralean village with cooking stations, entertainment, competitions and handicrafts on sale.

The Dubai Food Carnival is being held on 21 and 22 February at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where celebrity chefs will strut their stuff and visitors can enjoy workshops, international food pavilions, food tastings, music, comedy and competitions.  Book Now!

Next on the agenda is ‘Gulfood’, the world’s largest food and hospitality trade show, with 20 000 brands and 45 00 exhibitors on show over 5 days from 23 February.  A host of conferences and programmes geared at the food service sector will be taking place, and this year’s superheroes of the industry will be recognized at the Gulfood Awards ceremony on the first day.

Taste of Peru will keep the crowds entertained with a range of Peruvian specialties, such as tiradito, causa, quinotto and empanadas, washed down with the famed national grape cocktail from 26 February to 1 March at Souk Madinat.

From 27 to 28 February, the Emirate Golf Club dedicates itself to meat and music for the Big Grill event, which showcases everything to do with the humble barbecue. Connoisseurs of flame-grilled favourites will demonstrate their technique and visitors can sample barbequed delights form all over the world while top DJs practice their art in the background.

The Carnival culminates with Taste of Dubai from 13 to 15 March. During this event the city’s top restaurants and chefs will treat diners to an alfresco feast of their best offerings at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.
