Music festivals, with few exceptions, have developed the unfortunate reputation as avenues of drunken debauchery since Woodstock appeared on the scene.

Enter Wanderlust, which takes the hippie-theme to a whole new wholesome level.  Wellness and harmony are the overriding themes of this event, held on Hawaii’s sublime North Shore Hawaii every year.  Along with music, yoga and healthy outdoor pursuits are the focus at Wanderlust which is the largest event of its kind in the world.

Some of the daily events at Wanderlust include:

  • Kula flow
  • Aerial Yoga
  • Power Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Eco-kayaking
  • Horse-Riding
  • Facials and massages
  • Informative walks
  • Paddleboard Yoga
  • Fishing
  • Hula Hooping
  • Nutrition consultations
  • International DJ’s for the evening’s entertainment

You can be assured of healthy meals prepared from the freshest organic ingredients and wines to match, naps are expected rather than accepted and an atmosphere of tolerance, serenity and kinship prevails.

Wanderlust attendees are of the variety of people who care where their last meal came from and are interested in learning how to exist in harmony with the world and its inhabitants. So you can expect seminars on how to incorporate and maintain green principles in your everyday life after Wanderlust.

Most of the participants at Wanderlust are female and looking for an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and the universe itself. These girls are up for a good time in the real sense of the word.  Authentic intimacy is encouraged and a sense of purpose is created – a striving towards sane and sensible survival in an increasingly technological, impersonal and rushed existence.

You don’t have to be a master yogini, or even know your chakra from your chi, to participate in Wanderlust, but it will help if you limber up for a few weeks beforehand so that you don’t spend your days in the agony of unexpected exertion.

Children are welcome and catered for, with junior classes, suitable activities and educational talks so bring them along and if you can’t make it to Hawaii, you can join a one-day immersion in San Francisco, Chicago, New York or Los Angeles.
